Portraits of Grace: Brian
Portraits of Grace is a snapshot into the lives of the people at King's Cross Church. As "kingdom minded, kingdom people," we recognize God's work in every detail of our lives. We invite you to meet the people of our church.

I was hospitalized for a week during senior year of high school due to a ruptured appendix. That week was especially agonizing as I was spiking 104F fevers and had to wait 2 days for the doctors to attempt to drain my appendix, which was ultimately unsuccessful so they removed it. I was bedridden after the surgery in a very vulnerable/humble/weak state. I was very lonely particularly at night when I couldn’t sleep. Worst of all was that I was prohibited from eating and drinking anything all week. When I found out I had to be hospitalized (which was on a Saturday night), the one thing I remember saying to my mom was that I can’t miss church tomorrow because I was on set for worship that week. Thinking back, I’m encouraged by the devotion of my younger self and pray for that faith and courage.
